Brief History of the Institution
Vartaknagar Shikshan Mandal was established in the year 1973 with the leadership of late founder President Mr. G.K. Davane and his team of 7 to 8 people who came basically from Sane Guruji KathaMala. They established Vartaknagar Shikshan Mandal with the motive to impart knowledge and cultural values in the small children of Vartaknagar which was an industrial colony. Mrs. Madhavi Bhagwat took the lead and established the area’s First Primary School, Mazi Shala, at the Samaj Mandir Hall. Recognizing the need for secondary education the Mandal extended its efforts by founding Thirani Vidya Mandir in 1975, for Students from class 5th to 10th.
In 1994, R.B. Ankola Primary School was established for classes 1st to 4th. The Mandal continued its expansion by introducing an English Medium School in 2005, offering education from 1st to 10th grades. In 2008 Shri Sushil Kumar Thirani Junior College of Commerce and Science was inaugurated, providing higher education options. Finally, in 2023 Vartaknagar Shikshan Mandal’s Art’s, Science and Commerce College was established, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey. Degree College was under the leadership of Prof. Balasaheb Khollam. However, following his sudden demise, Dr. Mrs.Trupti B. Kawale assumed the role of In-Charge Principal.
This comprehensive educational journey from kinder garden to graduation, reflects the Mandal’s commitment to providing accessible education to the people of Vartaknagar and surrounding areas, showcasing remarkable progress over the years.
Govt. of Maharashtra sanctioned Degree College of Arts, Science and Commerce wide letter Aff/ICD/2022-23/1745. This college is affiliated to University of Mumbai. The college is located at Vartaknagar in VSM's school complex, Thane.
Vartak Nagar Shikshan Mandal has completed 50 years in educational field catering the need of society. The campus is functional in 8000sq.m. plot with easy access from Thane, Mulund, Kalawa with more than 2000 students. Vartak Nagar Shikshan Mandal provides all amenities for overall development of students like spacious playground, open gym and indoor & outdoor games.
Vartak Nagar Shikshan Mandal also provides Wi-Fi connectivity and Digital Library having capacity of 200 students. Computer laboratory is well developed to serve the student community with projectors. Canteen facility is available for all.
